Overview

Responsibilities include:
Developing effective income and estate tax planning techniques using partnerships and LLCs, charitable trusts, generation skipping trusts, and other wealth building strategies.
Reviewing complex trust, gift, estate, and individual tax returns.
Analyzing and updating estate plans, including reviewing wills and trust instruments.
Identifying potential liquidity problems at death caused by federal and state estate taxes, probate and administration costs, cash bequests, and funds needed to continue operating family businesses.
Planning for assets with unique tax attributes, such as life insurance and retirement plan benefits.
Reviewing trust structures to minimize the federal and state income tax exposure between the trusts and their beneficiaries.
Managing all aspects of client accounts and fostering client relationships.
Dealing directly with the client’s attorneys, investment advisors, taxing authority agents, and other professionals.
Conducting internal training courses or seminars on technical tax subjects.
Providing overall leadership, supervision, training, and performance feedback to staff.

Minimum Education & Other Requirements

CPA, MS in Taxation, and/or JD, LLM preferred
5-10 years of relevant tax experience including knowledge of taxation codes and regulations
Proficient knowledge of estate, gift, and trust tax returns, and fiduciary accountings.
Ability to supervise in a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of GoSystem and/or ProSystem a plus
